Meet The Founder, Lloyd Cohn
Greetings Golfers!
It's Lloyd from Copper Tech.
I wanted to share a little background on our company. It’s been quite the journey!
We’re based in Stuart, Fla., and family-owned and operated. My daughter Lauren, who holds a marketing degree from Florida State and is working toward her MBA, plays a huge role in the business.
Like a lot of people in this industry, I grew up playing golf and lots of other sports.
In fact, it was a sports injury – two broken fingers in my left hand – that (eventually) led to Copper Tech. More on that in a moment.
Before launching this company in 2016, I had worked in computers and sold real estate in the South Bronx.
As I got into my 30s, I felt the effects more and more. Cold weather made the pain flare up, and after a round of golf I had to soak my hand in ice water.
I started noticing copper-infused items, like knee sleeves, becoming really popular for people suffering arthritis and other joint pain.
And once I realized the technology actually worked, I decided to create a copper-infused golf glove.
The Copper Tech glove earned a patent in 2016, the same year we founded the company.
I’m delighted and, frankly, amazed at how far we’ve come in eight years.
